BBC Production has appointed Michele Romaine as production
director. Currently production head, continuous news, Romaine will work
closely with newly-appointed director of programmes Lorraine Heggessey,
and report to chief executive Matthew Bannister. She has been
responsible for running the production department for BBC News 24, BBC
World, and Radio 5 Live, producing 62 hours of programming a day. She
began her career in newspapers and worked in both BBC and independent
radio, ITN and BBC news.
