Harrow Council PR head Kevin Wilson has drafted in Toni McConville
as his first PR manager, a role created earlier this year. McConville
joins as the borough finds itself fielding media questions about the
apparent failure of its social services to prevent the death of
13-year-old Aliyah Ismail, who died at the beginning of October. In the
short-term, McConville will deal with press interest in the story, while
her long-term brief will be the day-to-day management of the
seven-strong press and publications department. She joins from the
London Borough of Hillingdon, where she was senior press officer.
