Associate director Rachel Vrettos returns to the agency after maternity leave as head of consumer health, and Vicky Lygoe has joined from JCPR as a senior account manager.
Since the start of the year, Red Door has been on the hunt for a senior communicator to head its new consumer business unit, encompassing the agency’s consumer work and its disease-awareness activity. The two appointments follow the departure of former head of consumer health Jane Seaton, who left in February to join Tonic Life Communications.
Red Door MD Catherine Warne said: ‘We wanted to drive the consumer health division and separate patient education activities from anything associated with the brand. Rachel will be working across a range of brands and patient education campaigns, but the whole point of the new strategy she will be driving is communicating with the patient or consumer.’
Vrettos has been with Red Door for more than seven years and has worked as an associate director on a number of brand campaigns including NiQuitin CQ and Horlicks for GSK, and several patient education campaigns.
Meanwhile, Lygoe joins Red Door from Edelman-owned JCPR, where she ran the Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Acuvue business and the Seven Seas VMS portfolio, including brands such as Multibionta and Cod Liver Oil.
Red Door is part of the Red Door Communications Group, which also includes medical education agency Rock Medical Communications.
