Nottingham-based Red Brick Communications has been appointed by

Donington Park Leisure to raise the public profile of Leicestershire

motor racing circuit Donington Park.

The agency was selected following a competitive pitch involving eight

other local consultancies. It is the first time Donington has appointed

a full-time outside agency.

Red Brick will report to Dave Fern, special projects manager at the

site, who decided a local agency would best understand the needs of the

business.

Red Brick has been asked to raise awareness of Donington’s exhibition,

conference and associated hospitality facilities. The site has, for

example, recently held music festivals such as the Monsters of Rock

event, but is best known for motorbike racing.

Fern said: ’The agency’s brief is to widen the name of Donington - and

not just on a national basis, we also need to make people in the

Midlands more aware of what we do.’

Red Brick director Stephen Houghton, who will run the account, said:

’Donington Park has a lot of hospitality facilities that are not used as

much as they could be. In a sense, they want to move off the sports

pages and on to the business pages.’

’The site also does a lot for the local economy with all the people it

attracts to the races and they want some recognition for this,’ he

added.
