Halpern will focus on the launch of Le Pain Quotidien’s new store, close to Borough Market in London.
It will work to raise the brand profile among consumers in preparation for expansion beyond its current 15 current locations in London.
Halpern will report to Le Pain Quotidien UK managing director Steven Whibley.
Whibley said: ‘2010 marks an exciting time for the brand, as we plan our imminent launch of Le Pain Quotidien... and mark the 20th anniversary of our first Brussels store, and six years here in the UK.’
Alain Comount was the brand's first bakery in Brussels in 1990. Today Le Pain Quotidien has a global network of more than 150 stores across the US and North America, Europe, the Middle East, Russia and Australia.
