What is it good for?
Set inside a former Victorian butcher's shop, Hereford Road is known for its frills-free approach to well-sourced British food at affordable prices. The American diner-style booths are perfect for a client dinner or team meeting, and the two-seater tables are ideal for a quick catch-up over coffee.
Signature main courses include the whole braised oxtail with carrots, and the lamb sweetbreads with pearl barley, parsley and mint. My favourite is the globe artichoke and vinaigrette starter, followed by a main course of mouthwatering rack of lamb, with peas, mint and fried potatoes.
Who's the boss?
Chef and co-founder Tom Pemberton, the former head chef of St John Bread and Wine.
