Voluntary Sector: The Week in Charities

The Association of Colleges has chosen Octopus Communications to run Colleges Week, the annual campaign to raise awareness of college activity across the UK, from 8 to 15 November.

The 'Your Future, Your Choice' campaign will raise the profile of colleges for higher education. Media Trust has promoted Katie Simpson to deputy chief executive and creative media director. In the new role, she will continue to lead on Media Trust's PR, public affairs and in-house production unit.

Cerebra, the national children's charity, has appointed Robert Winter as marketing and comms officer and Jamie Thomas as marketing and comms assistant. Winter was previously marketing and comms officer with the United Nations in Geneva.

Elephant Family, the charity dedicated to protecting Asian elephants and their habitat, has been working with The Good Agency to develop a social media campaign calling for support to put pressure on the Government to secure the species' future.

The British Heart Foundation has redesigned its Annual Review for 2010 with a comic strip that illustrates the charity's work. The review is entitled Small Wonders, Big Difference.
