AOL UK has named Matt Peacock as corporate communications director.
Peacock was previously a partner with specialist corporate reputation
consultancy Regester Larkin.
Heading a team of ten, Peacock will handle communications across three
brands - AOL, Compuserve and Netscape Online. His first task will be to
restructure the internal communications team. Until now AOL and
Compuserve have had separate communications teams with the AOL team also
working on Netscape.
’By pooling the knowledge and experience of the corporate communications
group it should benefit all of the brands,’ said Peacock.
He replaces Maggie Gallant who has left the organisation to go
He reports to Bill Burrington, who is AOL Europe’s senior vice-president
and chief communications officer.
Larkin is one of two agencies retained by AOL. The other is Joe Public
Relations which launched Netscape Online last summer (PR Week 20
The pounds 220 billion merger between AOL Inc and Time Warner does not
directly affect AOL UK. However according to Peacock, in time it will
lead to ’increased content quality and resources’.
AOL is Europe’s biggest ISP, with 2.7 million subscribers.
