Broadgate Mainland was hired for the brief without a competitive pitch. It will raise awareness of Hannon Westwood’s North Sea research and intelligence reports among City analysts and corporate finance houses.
The research firm is based in Glasgow and offers UK Continental Shelf intelligence and business development services. It has a team of experts and proprietary data systems.
The PR campaign will mainly comprise media relations aimed at City opinion formers and corporate finance departments.
Broadgate Mainland will report directly to Hannon Westwood director and founder Jim Hannon. The agency’s director Roland Cross, who will head up the account, said of the appointment: ‘Hannon Westwood has exceptional resources for researching the oil and gas in the North Sea and is well
respected in the industry. We aim to build and strengthen this reputation further and add value to the company’s comms strategy.’
Hannon said: ‘Raising awareness of our capabilities is essential and Broadgate Mainland has an impressive track record of using media comms to raise the profile of businesses.’
Hannon Westwood was founded in 1993 by Hannon and Charles Westwood. Over the past five years it has provided board level insight leading to investments totalling $3.5bn.
The company regularly provides expert commentary for both the UK Government and key opinion formers in the oil and gas industry. It has a team of 20 oil professionals with global exploration and production, commercial and geo-technical experience.
Separately, Broadgate Mainland is handling a PR project for the Singapore Economic Development Board. The board is the lead government agency that plans and executes strategies to enhance Singapore’s position as a global business centre.
Broadgate is working with the Singapore EDB to raise awareness in the UK and promote inward investment.
The Singapore EDB also provides feedback to other government agencies to ensure infrastructure and public services are efficient and cost-competitive.
