BORDER LINES: FRANKFURT - ECB shortlists three for Euro brief

The European Central Bank has published a shortlist of three in its continued search for an agency to run the pan-European campaign surrounding the introduction of the euro. The three agencies - Hill and Knowlton, Publicis and Team Young and Rubicam/Burson Marsteller - have been selected from the nine which made initial pitches following the publication of a tender note in February (PR Week, 26 February). The three will be asked to re-pitch in October, with an announcement expected a month later. The successful agency will begin work shortly after the announcement, with a view to running a campaign across the 11 countries in the euro zone and in countries including the US and Japan, whose citizens are frequent visitors to Europe.
