BBC Worldwide has created a top PR role for television channel BBC
World as it seeks to raise the channel’s profile. The BBC wants to
target advertisers and consumers in the major European, Asian, Far
Eastern and US markets.
The role of corporate relations head has been created to handle external
relations. Meanwhile, the BBC has appointed Sue Farr, marketing and
communications director for BBC Broadcast, the corporation’s
commissioning and marketing arm, as director of public service
marketing. She will add corporate marketing to her remit but will still
oversee PR for BBC Broadcast.
