Shilland and Co fights Exposure for Levi’s work

Levis Strauss is holding a pitch for its pan-European consumer account.

Levis Strauss is holding a pitch for its pan-European consumer

account.

The incumbent Shilland and Co, and Exposure, which joined the Levi’s

roster just a month ago, are fighting it out for the business.

Shilland and Levi’s have one of the longest standing relationships in

consumer PR. The agency run by Peter Shilland, who is a former Levi’s

marketing director, and the world’s biggest jeans manufacturer have

worked together for almost 14 years.

Last month Levi’s appointed Edelman PR Worldwide to handle EMEA

corporate and government relations. Meanwhile lifestyle specialist

Exposure was appointed on a project basis to handle trade press (PR

Week, 9 July).

The pan-European consumer account is a strategic and co-ordinating

role.

The agency appointed will be responsible for drawing up a blueprint for

pan-European campaigns for the Levi’s brand and co-ordinating their

execution with local agencies. The account does not include Dockers or

non-Levi’s branded lines but does cover products, retail and

advertising.

The pitch will take place in the next ten days and a decision is

expected soon after.
