AS Biss celebrated its third birthday last week. The agency was
founded on Guy Fawkes’ day, so this year it decided to raise money for
the Evelina children’s unit at Guy’s Hospital, with a ’Pennies for
Guy’s’ campaign.
It struck a chord. Swiss Life marketing manager John Ritchie, whose
eldest son Jack had recently been treated in the Evelina ward, gave
generously.
And children in the ward put their crayons to work drawing posters to
promote the initiative in the hospital and the local community.
The result: a cheque for pounds 2,500 to the hospital, presented at its
bash last week at the Cafe Royal by local MP Simon Hughes.
The only slight hitch came when Hughes, having received death threats
after helping with a murder investigation on a local housing estate,
pitched up accompanied by an armed guard. Luckily the heavies were
persuaded to stand out of viewfinder range.
Agency founder Adele Biss is so chuffed with the campaign she is
thinking about carrying it on into next year.
