Robert Miller, head of City at the Express newspaper, is to take up
a new role of associate editor City, and economics editor. In the new
role, Miller will write three columns a week on key economic issues, as
well as writing comment and opinion pieces.
Miller joined the Express as City editor in September 1997. He was
previously banking correspondant at the Times, and had also worked as
personal finance correspondent for the Observer.
Miller will report to Rosie Boycott, editor of the Express. She said:
’Robert has a great deal of experience and with his new brief our
readers will have far more opportunity to benefit from his
knowledge.
Meanwhile, Patrick Hosking, who is currently working at the Evening
Standard, is rumoured to be in line to replace Miller as City editor.
Hosking was previously business editor for the Independent on Sunday and
also worked for the Melbourne Age in Australia before taking his job at
the Evening Standard.
