Nkwocha and Associates has been appointed by Jubilee 2000 to
promote its campaign for the cancellation of world debt, with specific
focus on its Africa campaign.
Agency head Kizzi Nkwocha leads a five-strong team working for the lobby
group, whose special ambassador is Muhammad Ali. He reports to Kwesi
Owusu, head of its Africa initiative.
Owusu said Nkwocha had been appointed because of its strong media
connections and sympathy with the organisation’s goals. Six other
agencies were approached before Nkwocha was appointed.
Nkwocha said he would be looking to set up meetings between key Jubilee
2000 players and national news and feature editors. A live music event
in the Ugandan capital Kampala may also be in the offing.
Jubilee 2000 press officer Lucy Matthew said the body would continue to
work closely with Borkowski Press and PR, which handled publicity for
Jubilee 2000’s presence at last year’s Brit Awards.
