DIARY: Unsung heroes get a chance to shine at Ketchum’s luvvie award fest

Who would have dared dream, let alone hope, that being a top public relations professional and full-time luvvie could result in both the red carpet treatment AND a breakfast of Bucks Fizz and muffins?

Who would have dared dream, let alone hope, that being a top public

relations professional and full-time luvvie could result in both the red

carpet treatment AND a breakfast of Bucks Fizz and muffins?

Well, that’s exactly what happened to all who attended Ketchum’s PR

Oscar-style awards at the National Film Theatre in Southbank.

For a number of years, Ketchum has commended the work and creativity

produced by the agency’s staff at an annual awards ceremony.

This year the awards were opened up to every unsung hero at Ketchum

London.

There were awards for a total of six people categories, including the

much sought after ’PR Luvvie’ award and the (perhaps slightly more

credible - or is it?) ’Campaign of the Year’ award.

Contenders for this latter award were whittled down to three finalists

but it was the contents of the golden envelope that revealed the winner

to be a team from Ketchum Life for its work with retailer, Burton.

The losers did not feel like losers, however, what with the crash

barriers and even hoardes of mock paparazzi snapping pictures of them

wherever they went.

Everyone (82 per cent in fact) said they had a fantastic day,

particularly Jane Boardman whose dream turned to reality with the

shocking and breathtaking news that she was voted ’PR Luvvie’.

Jane had received the highest number of votes from across the board, for

the standard of her wardrobe as well as her work. Congratulations!
