PUBLIC SECTOR: Beaumont volunteers to promote literacy

’Right to read’, the campaign aimed at boosting literacy in Yorkshire and the Humber, has appointed Georgina Beaumont as press officer. She will work with media relations manager David Simister on a voluntary basis in her own time, while continuing to work at Leeds-based consultancy Sinclair Mason. The press team will focus on getting both businesses and the general public involved as well as raising the campaign’s profile. Founded in 1999, the campaign aims to increase literacy levels by establishing a volunteer reading programme involving local businesses.
