The RSPB has appointed Paul Lewis as head of public relations, promoting him from public affairs manager of the society’s East Anglia office to develop the RSPB’s profile. Lewis will be responsible for a team of 20 staff covering media, external relations, events and the library, and will report to public affairs director Mike Hodgson. He replaces previous incumbent Jane Heeney who left at Christmas to set up her own consultancy. In the interim, corporate affairs manager Adrian Penrose stepped into the breach.
