Cohn and Wolfe has won an account which is close to the hearts of

many who work in the PR industry - Conran Restaurants.

The agency was appointed following a competitive pitch, and will

initially focus on two London restaurants, Mezzo and Quaglino’s, as well

as Bluebird, the gastronome’s paradise on the King’s Road.

The team is headed by Seb Smith, director of C&W’s consumer division,

and reports to Julie Richardson, marketing and PR manager.

She said: ’We have a real diversity of restaurants in the group and Cohn

and Wolfe’s brief is to reinforce the positioning of each restaurant by

raising awareness of the individual personalities.’

It is the first time Conran Restaurants has had one central PR agency

working across various restaurants. Each restaurant will be treated as a

separate entity.

There will be a campaign to promote Mezzo’s fifth birthday in September,

and publicise its changing late-night music policy. Work on Quaglino’s

will remind people that it’s as popular as ever with celebrities and

food lovers.

’We’re dedicated to getting to know our client’s business very well,’

said account manager Naomi Proudlove.
