The whole sector is under attack. Too many politicians are getting away with playing to the gallery for cheap applause. Just because a minority of public sector PR has been wasteful, it doesn't mean the whole sector should be cast as villainous parasites on the public purse.
The industry needs to do better at proving its value, but we also need leaders from our professional bodies who will stand up to unfair criticism and make the case for investment in public sector PR.
