City & Corporate: Powerscourt boosts advice

Powerscourt has created an advisory group to add expertise to the agency and its clients, with a particular focus on supporting capital markets transactions.

The board of this group will initially comprise Charles Allen, a senior adviser at Goldman Sachs and ex-chief executive of ITV, and Phil Nolan, senior adviser to Warburg Pincus, chairman of John Laing and former CEO of Lattice Group and Eircom.

Allen is also chairman of Global Radio and a non-executive director of the London Olympic Committee and Tesco. He was, until June, executive chairman of EMI's recorded music division.

Rory Godson, founder of Powerscourt, said: 'Having access to the battle-hardened skills of this group will provide a valuable source of experience for clients undertaking capital markets transactions and other strategic comms.'
