The UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people has handed the top comms post to Nicola Frame, previously deputy head of PR at consumer body Which?.
She will lead a team of seven, reporting to director of comms and campaigning Liz North, who joined the
charity in January.
Frame said: ‘We feel there is much more to be done to raise awareness of the non-clinical help we provide for children and young people with cancer, such as financial support, holidays and our Homes from Home, which provide free accommodation close to major hospitals for families who have travelled and need to stay overnight.’
CLIC Sargent has also hired Elana McIntyre, formerly PR executive at BMI Healthcare, as senior press officer; Alice White joins as press officer, having held the same role at YMCA; and Amy Tout, former editor at Trafficlink, joins as comms and campaigns administrator. The team will work to raise awareness of the charity and its services, such as specialist nurses, social workers, free Home from Home accommodation near hospitals and financial support.
Forthcoming campaigns for CLIC Sargent include the opening of Paul’s House, the first Homes from Home in central London, which will provide free accommodation for families accessing specialist treatment at University College Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
