BORDER LINES: WASHINGTON Kamber Group seeks buyer

The capital’s largest independent public affairs agency, The Kamber Group, is seeking a buyer. Agency president/CEO Victor Kamber has admitted his firm is in ’serious conversation’ with a potential suitor. Although the agency recorded a profit in 1998 and is expected to do so again this year, it is still trying to overcome a pounds 875,000 loss in 1997. Kamber said the 1997 difficulties have made discussions on selling the firm ’more immediate’. The group currently boasts fees in excess of pounds 4.7 million and has a staff of 60.
