HONG KONG: Ogilvy PR dominated the Asian PR Awards for the second
year running, with wins in three categories: healthcare; product
marketing, and community relations.
The best product marketing campaign was won for Ogilvy’s Thailand launch
of Uni-President Group’s Chinese Herbal Chicken Soup. The healthcare
campaign was won for Ogilvy’s management of an initiative to increase
adoption of birth control in northern India. The community relations
award was awarded on the strength of the ’Nokia Connection People
Adventure 99’, where Nokia provided Hong Kong students with a five-day
outward bound adventure.
The agency’s Jakarta office was Consultancy of the Year, while the Young
Communicator of the Year was Steve Yap, an associate director at Ogilvy
in Hong Kong.
Other winners included Burson-Marsteller for crisis management and best
use of an event, Shandwick for public service PR and Hong Kong
independent Newell PR for best technology campaign.
The awards are organised by PR Week’s sister publication in the region,
Asian PR News.
