Rosemary Collyns, long-suffering secretary to Westminster Strategy
managing director Michael Burrell, was yesterday rewarded for her ten
years service with a gathering of her past colleagues and
tormentors.
Burrell invited all former WS staffers to a party at Westminster’s Bar
Excellence to celebrate Collyns’s tenth anniversary in the job - no
doubt an excellent opportunity for guests to network as much as to
admire Collyns’s tenacity.
Westminster Strategy has seen so many would-be lobbyists and future
public affairs grandees pass through its doors that it is jokingly
referred to by some as the industry’s training academy.
When PR Week went to press, the list of public affairs luminaries
attending the glittering event included Bell Pottinger public affairs
managing director Kevin Bell, Fishburn Hedges director Graham McMillan,
Shandwick public affairs director Jon McLeod and GPC managing director
Peter Bingle.
Let’s hope that all rivalries were kept to one side.
