Diary: Butters takes racing line to push Harvard Centro past INS chequered flag

Harvard Centro general manager Fraser Butters has found a way to combine the two loves of his life - motorbikes and PR.

Harvard Centro general manager Fraser Butters has found a way to

combine the two loves of his life - motorbikes and PR.

While recently watching a UK Superbike race at Brands Hatch, he noticed

that the Ducati race team was being sponsored by corporate internet

service provider INS.

When Butters approached the INS/Ducati team, he found it was reviewing

its sizeable PR account. ’Fraser sent me an e-mail asking what we were

doing about our PR and, by coincidence, we were seeking to review our

agency,’ said INS marketing communications manager Emma Spink.

It didn’t take Fraser long to inform INS that it would be hard pressed

to find an agency which understood the diverse worlds of the internet

and motorbike racing quite like Harvard Centro.

After a four-way pitch, including incumbent Brodeur A Plus, INS was

convinced and appointed Harvard Centro on a business-to-business

brief.

Butters is eyeing the progress of the Ducati team a little

wistfully.

Ducati rider Troy Bayliss is leading the rider’s championship, while the

team has already won the manufacturer’s competition. Having secured the

PR account, Butters is still waiting for his racing call-up.
