NEW YORK: ABC Television is losing its communications chief as a result of parent company Disney’s demand that all PROs relocate to Los Angeles. Patricia Matson, senior vice-president of communications, is one of more than 100 east coast PR employees to be affected by the ultimatum, which was motivated by budgetary concerns. Matson, who has been with the network for 22 years, joined ABC in Washington, DC, as a news publicist and rose through the ranks to one of the company’s top communications posts.
