BORDER LINES: F-H wins Houston promotion

MEXICO CITY: Following a four-way pitch, Fleishman-Hillard Mexico has been awarded an account by the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau (GHCVB) to promote the city of Houston, Texas, to Mexican tourists and business travellers. The agency will be responsible for highlighting Houston’s entertainment, business and shopping attractions through media, corporate relations and special events. The programme will be managed from Fleishman-Hillard’s Mexico City office with support from the agency’s Houston office, and is worth over pounds 62,000 in fees. Houston has 900,000 legal Mexican visitors every year, but the GHCVB believes its appeal can be increased. The agency has prior experience of promoting Mexico, and more recently Mexico City, as tourist destinations.
