PUBLIC SECTOR: Solicitors association enlists Grandfield PRO

Solicitors Family Law Association chairwoman Rosemary Carter is drafting in Elizabeth Forbes from London-based PR agency Grandfield to become the association’s first PR director. The role was created as part of a push to gain wider recognition for the legal trade body and was previously filled by practising solicitors. ’What we want is for the general public to see us as the voice of family law, to see the Solicitors Family Law Association as almost a brand,’ said Carter. Apart from brand-building, Forbes will also co-ordinate the association’s 34 regional press officers, reporting to Carter and association media co-ordinator Louise Spitz. She will also be charged with bringing in outside agencies on a project-by-project basis to support the organisation’s lobbying activity. The association previously used Fishburn Hedges.
