Pharmaceutical giant Smith-Kline Beecham has appointed Harvard PR to handle PR for malted drink brand Horlicks.

Pharmaceutical giant Smith-Kline Beecham has appointed Harvard PR

to handle PR for malted drink brand Horlicks.

The account was won after a four-way pitch. It is led by account manager

Matt King, who reports to Kathy Davis, SmithKline Beecham product

manager.

PR for the brand had previously been handled in-house.

Harvard has a brief to maintain Horlicks’ position as the leader in the

hot, milky drinks market. It competes against brands such as Ovaltine,

as well as generic hot chocolate drinks, but has no direct malted

competitor.

PR activity will build on the current advertising campaign, which has a

’sleep better, feel better’ strapline. Harvard will be promoting the

message that Horlicks can improve the quality of sleep.

Harvard also works for the company on the Beechams Cold and Flu range.
