BORDER LINES: MADRID - Reuters enlists Llorente y Cuenca

News provider Reuters has appointed local agency Llorente y Cuenca to handle press relations for the Iberian peninsula, following a three-way competitive pitch. The agency has been appointed on a one-year contract to increase awareness of the company’s activities and handle product launches. Managing partner Jose Antonio Llorente said: ’It is part of a European effort by Reuters to have a network of media relations people in each of the main markets. Our challenge is to show that Reuters is more than just a newswire company.’ The agency has reached an association agreement with Lisbon agency Unimagen to handle the account in Portugal.
