PUBLIC SECTOR: KIDS needs new head to run rejigged PR

Children’s special needs charity KIDS is to reorganise its PR and is looking for a director of fund-raising and communications to replace Catherine Lloyd, who is leaving for personal reasons. Although Lloyd co-ordinated the charity’s PR, each department of the charity previously had to do its own press work. This will no longer be the case. The PR department will handle all media relations. The aim is to maximise coverage for fund-raising events, which draw high-profile support from the likes of Elizabeth Hurley, but gain little media coverage. The post will oversee a team of seven and report to chief executive Sam Brier.
