PUBLIC SECTOR: Environment agency seeks comms strategist

In a bid to improve internal communications, the Environment Agency, the regulator in England and Wales, is to draft in its first internal communications strategist. The move comes three years after the formation of the authority from the amalgamation of Her Majesty’s inspectorate of pollution, the National River Authority and the 83 local authority waste regulators, as the agency recognises it needs to improve dialogue with its widespread employees. The post reports to organisation development manager Hilary Harris and work alongside internal communications manager Gordon Sims, who will be responsible for executing the new communications policy. The internal communication roles fall outside the remit of external affairs director Miles Wilson.
