Attic Futura has recruited an editor for Inside Soap. Steven

Murphy, who is currently editor of Inside Soap’s Australian edition,

takes over from the UK edition’s acting editor Tricia Martin in

July.

Martin is leaving to join the Sun as TV features editor. She joined the

magazine in 1999 as deputy editor and has been acting editor since

Jonathan Bowman left to join IPC. Bowman is now special projects editor

at IPC’s television publishing division, tx.

Murphy went to Australia just over a year ago, having previously worked

as features editor on Inside Soap in the UK for three years. Inside Soap

in Australia is published by Attic Futura’s parent company PMP

Communications.

Inside Soap in the UK is fortnightly and is the market leader, with a

circulation of just under 264,000 per issue. It is aimed at housewives,

whereas Attic’s other soap title, the monthly All About Soap, is aimed

at teenagers and adults in their early-twenties.
