MEDIA BRIEFS: Local digital stations start to broadcast

The UK’s first local digital stations began broadcasting on Thursday this week. The stations are operated by CE Digital, a joint venture between Capital and Emap, and are being broadcast in London, Birmingham and Manchester. They carry the existing stations Capital FM, Capital Gold, Kiss 100, Magic, News Direct, LBC and Sunrise Radio. The stations have a potential audience of 14 million.
