Fleishman-Hillard has overtaken Burson-Marsteller to become the

largest agency operating in the US according to the league table of the

top 200 consultancies published by PRWeek US.

With over pounds 113 million in fee income, Fleishman-Hillard has

recorded more than doubled Burson-Marsteller’s fee growth since

1998.

However, the fastest growing agency in the US is Shandwick with a

staggering 68 per cent growth in fee income.

Shandwick’s rise is largely due to its acquisition of public affairs and

government relations firm The Cassidy Companies - a deal which was

estimated to cost between pounds 38 million and pounds 50 million.

Across the industry, US agencies are reporting more growth than ever

before. Last year also showed record levels of mergers and acquisitions,

with over 100 deals in the US and 50 already in the first four months of

this year alone.
