PUBLIC SECTOR: Dedicated press and PR position for ESRC

The Economic and Social Research Council is looking to appoint a press and PR manager to replace Kathy Ham. Ham was promoted to director of external relations last month following the departure of Tim Whitaker who has taken up the role of head of communications at the Audit Commission following a ten-year stint at the ESRC. Reorganisation at the council has created a vacancy for a position dedicated solely to press and PR. The appointee will be responsible for organising national media campaigns to increase the ESRC’s profile. The ESRC is an independent research organisation whose work on economic and social issues contributes to policy-making at both local and national government levels.
