Flack: One lucky agency

Word reaches Flack that one lucky agency will land a brief to launch The Dube - a mysterious musical instrument invented by ex-footballer Dion Dublin.

The man once described by Alex Ferguson as 'magnificent' (although not strictly for his on-pitch skills) has created a 'stylish cube percussion instrument' and is looking for a PR agency to help reveal it to the world. Flack would like to think it is far too mature to make weak jokes about the tough task of supporting Dublin's 'instrument', but is fooling nobody ...

Ketchum Pleon this week unleashed its creative juices on the world with the launch of art summer show Art@Ketchum Pleon. The exhibition showcased internal talent through photography, paintings and even installation work. Flack was there to judge the PRWeek Choice Award, which went to Susannah Knox for her painting Woman (after Picasso). Sadly, there was no sign of Charles Saatchi or Jay Jopling sniffing around the artwork on display - perhaps try pickling MD David Gallagher next year? ... Ex-PRO-turned-magician Nick Fitzherbert will be spilling the secrets of his trade in a book, Presentation Magic, to be published next year. 'It combines 20 years of experience as a PR consultant with the techniques I have developed since becoming a member of The Magic Circle,' he says. Flack wonders if Fitzherbert can wave his magic wand over the sales figures.
