The Medical Protection Society, the UK’s largest mutual protection
society, has chosen Morgan Allen Moore to handle its public affairs.
Morgan Allen Moore saw off Politics International in a competitive
pitch.
The society previously used CSM, which held the account for almost ten
years until last month.
The agency has been charged with raising the profile of the society
among Government audiences. The society wants more input into health
policy, especially that relating to medical negligence.
Agency director Shelley McNicol, who will lead the account, reporting to
society policy and external affairs head Dr Gerard Panting, said: ’The
society represents almost half the doctors and dentists in the UK. It’s
essential for it to input effectively into the political process.’
The Medical Protection Society is run and funded by healthcare
practitioners.
It provides services including professional indemnity in medical
negligence cases, representation at inquiries and disciplinary
proceedings and legal and ethical advice.
