Registered charity The English Project, which launched in March 2008, is aimed at highlighting the global story of the evolution of the English language.
Flagship has been called in specifically to promote The English Project's annual English Language Day on 13 October - the day in 1362 when English became Parliament's working language.
This year, the focus is on getting the British public to help create a 'Nickname Gazetteer' - a collection of locally used favourite nicknames for cities, towns, villages, parks streets and buildings, or even a local tree.
Ordnance Survey is supporting the initiative by helping to collect the nicknames, which will then be used to produce an alternative map of the British Isles.
The Flagship team will be led by regional director Sophy Norris and account director Adrian King.
