Red Rooster Beauty and Consumer PR (RRBC) has been appointed by
Seagram UK to handle trade and consumer PR for its Martell Cognac
The account was awarded following a four-way pitch which did not include
incumbent agency Bell Pottinger Public Relations (formerly known as
Green Moon), which chose not to repitch. Bell Pottinger Public Relations
will continue to work on projects for Martell Cognac for a remaining two
Jeanette Edwards, brand manager for Martell Cognac said the reason for
the change was a need to ’revitalise the brand’.
The account is headed by managing director Tanya Lake, who reports to
Edwards. RRBC has started work promoting the Martell French Cinema Tour,
which visits 15 locations throughout the UK.
Lake said the agency will be targeting ’modern independents’, aged
between 18 and 35. The aim of the tour is to associate the brand with
French cinema, and raise awareness.
RRBC will look after the entire Martell range, which includes five
drinks, ranging from Martell VS, priced at pounds 17.99; to Martell XO
Supreme, which sells at pounds 99.99.
The agency also looks after some of First Drinks Brands’ spirits,
including Stolichnaya vodka, but the Martell account was not seen to be
