Meditech Media (MTM), the third-largest healthcare communications
company in the UK, has recruited David Milton to the newly-created role
of chief operating officer in the UK division.
Milton joins MTM from Novartis Pharmaceuticals where he was director of
the central nervous system business division.
Following the appointment, Stephen Cameron, who owns MTM, moves from the
position of managing director to chairman and CEO of the MTM group,
which has offices in the US, Hong Kong, Germany, Australia and Italy, as
well as two offices in the UK.
The reason for the move is the group’s rapid international
Milton said: ’My role is to help the company through the growing pains
of being small and UK-based, to being international.’
There are plans to open further offices in the US, India and China soon
and Milton added that there were also plans for an IPO in the ’not too
Milton worked at Novartis for three years. Prior to this, he worked at
Glaxo Wellcome, where he held the position of director of commercial
strategy, based in the US.
MTM’s UK division grew by 31 per cent in fee income last year, following
wins such as the global PR account for Avandia.
