Financial Times IT correspondent Paul Taylor and Sunday Business

media correspondent Dawn Hayes have been recruited to launch an on-line

news service focusing on the IT, communications and media

industries.

The451.com, a paid for service, went live on Wednesday this week and

will be available on the web, on WAP phones, palmtops, e-mail and

corporate intranets globally.

Taylor joins after 22 years at the FT. Hayes is still working out her

notice at the Sunday Business. She joined the paper from Bloomberg News,

where she covered telecoms and media, and before that was UK bureau

chief for Communications Week International.

The451.com was developed by the Durlacher Corporation, which backed

football site 365. It will have an initial staff of 60 in the US and the

UK, with 30 in London. The site will contain a mixture of news and

analysis on emerging markets and their players, and new technology

trends.
