Madrid: Ketchum is to become the majority owner of the Madrid-based
Spanish Executive Information Services (SEIS).
The full-service agency - ranked fifth in the country by the Spanish
Association of PR Agencies, with 42 staff and 1999 fees of pounds 1.5
million - has been linked to Ketchum since an initial investment was
made in 1993.
The link was strengthened last January when SEIS managing director and
co-founder Teresa Garcia Cisneros was named a Ketchum partner and joined
the firm’s management council. The latest move increases Ketchum’s stake
to 70 per cent and brings to more than 50 the number of Ketchum offices
and affiliates worldwide.
The Spanish operation’s expertise is in technology, healthcare, brand
marketing and corporate reputation. SEIS clients include Microsoft, Mars
and Compaq. SEIS will continue to use its own name after the tie-up.
