Voluntary Sector: The Week in Charities

- Save the Children has appointed Justin Forsyth as its new chief executive.

He was until recently director of strategic comms in Downing Street. He also worked at Oxfam for 15 years and helped to set up 'Make Poverty History'.

- Friends of The Earth's new director of fundraising, communications and activism Joe Jenkins is planning new campaigns around climate change and biodiversity. He joined last week after five years as head of fundraising strategy at the Royal National Institute for Blind People.

- Vision Charity is to hire a PR agency to provide pro bono work on top of annual fees of £25,000. The charity, which caters for blind and visually impaired children, hopes to have an agency in place by September.

- Nobull Communications is providing pro bono support to new 'charity hub', The Clare Foundation, launched by Mike Clare, founder of Dreams. Its headquarters provides companies and charities with space for conferences, training and off-site board meetings.

- Teenage Cancer Trust has signed up actors Nicholas Hoult and Michelle Ryan to be ambassadors for a sun safety campaign called Shunburn, which will highlight key safety messages, such as wearing a hat and applying sun cream.
