The Food Standards Agency, the Government body which will act as
the first dedicated public-facing organisation to communicate issues of
food safety, has brought in Leonie Austin from the DTI press office to
head its media relations team for the first six months of its existence.
The role is the top PR job at the body in the absence of a PR director,
who has yet to be appointed. The body came into force on 1 April with
Austin managing a six-strong team covering press and publicity.
