PUBLIC SECTOR: Food Standards Agency brings in Austin

The Food Standards Agency, the Government body which will act as the first dedicated public-facing organisation to communicate issues of food safety, has brought in Leonie Austin from the DTI press office to head its media relations team for the first six months of its existence. The role is the top PR job at the body in the absence of a PR director, who has yet to be appointed. The body came into force on 1 April with Austin managing a six-strong team covering press and publicity.
