The Weber Group International is to launch its specialist consumer
technology brand Red Whistle, in Europe.
The division will be headed by Zoe Arden, who is currently deputy
managing director of the Weber Group Europe. Clients will be in the
consumer technology and internet sector - approximately 40 per cent of
the Weber Group Europe’s current roster. Arden said the search was
underway for recruits with a strong consumer background.
Red Whistle’s UK launch is slated for the final quarter of the year.
It will be a separate brand under the Weber Group Europe umbrella. The
brand launched in the US in January this year, with its own office in
San Francisco - the Weber Group Europe is working with this office on
several clients already.
According to Arden, the aim behind Red Whistle is to offer a better
service to clients in this area.
These clients are likely to include Surfmonkey.com, the web portal aimed
at children aged five to 12, which filters out unsavoury web content;
Geoworks, which is a leader in WAP technology; and Palm, which makes
hand-held electronic personal organisers.
In the US, Red Whistle opened with 20 staff and over pounds 2 million in
annualised revenue. Clients range from Fox Interactive to Peets Coffee
and Tea, which sells freshly-ground coffee over the internet.
