PR Newswire Europe has announced a link up with news agency United

Television News, to expand its broadcast consultancy by offering

television and video services.

Previously PR Newswire Europe has offered a radio consultancy, as well

as its press release distribution service. Now clients will be able to

commission video news releases, including production and distribution of

the footage, using United Television’s camera crews and post-production

facilities. Media training is also available.

Head of broadcast services Alan Hardy said: ’The editorial advice and

input from United Television News, plus their distribution channels,

give an advantage to our clients.’

He added that the increased use of web casting, would create a greater

demand for video throughout the PR industry.

The two companies are both owned by United News and Media, which also

owns the television companies Meridian, HTV, Anglia and Granada, and has

proposed a merger with Carlton Communications.

In June last year, United News and Media subsidiary PR Newswire bought

Two Ten Communications, the press release company, from the Press

Association.
