August.One Communications is to handle trade and consumer PR for
Scoot UK, the interactive service which matches buyers of products and
services with suppliers. The agency replaces Cohn and Wolfe, which
declined to repitch. Scoot will continue to work with financial
specialist Buchanan Communications.
August.One associate director Penny Hawtin will lead the account,
reporting to Scoot UK PR manager Sharon Walker.
Scoot is keen to raise its profile with both individual subscribers and
small businesses. ’The brief is to take the Scoot proposition to the SME
and consumer markets, with a strong emphasis on the new media side,’
At present, transactions are mainly telephone-based, with calls made to
