Ex-CNBC journalist Jim Goldman named technology practice chair at Burson-Marsteller

Burson-Marsteller has appointed tech reporting veteran Jim Goldman as its new US technology practice chair.

The former CNBC Silicon Valley bureau chief is leaving TV news for the global PR firm and will help companies develop strategies to bridge old media traditions and new media opportunities.  

Goldman will be based in San Francisco and report to US president and CEO Pat Ford and global chair of the technology practice Jennifer Graham Clary.
